Dear
Friend:
If there was ever a time to
Rise up, it is now! It is time to sound the alarm from the
church house to the White House. We must proclaim, We want the
principles of the founders of our nation to be the guiding light of
our nation again.
P_rnography
is flooding our streets, our airways, the worldwide web and now
breaking through cell phones.
Every second $3,075.64 is spent
on porn.
Every second 28,258 Internet
users are viewing it.
Every 39 minutes a new
p_rnographic video is being created in the U.S.
In 2006 the world revenue from
p_rn was $97 billion. That made this industry larger than the
combined revenues of the top tech companies of Microsoft, Google,
Amazon, Ebay, Yahoo, Apple, NetFlix and Earthlink in 2006.
The average age for first time
Internet exposure is 11 years old. The largest consumer group of
Internet p_rn is 35-49. 90% of 8-16 year olds have viewed p_rn
online.
It was the early 1950’s that Hugh
Hefner began publishing Playboy. His strategy was to give
away Playboy free to senators, representatives and judges to
influence them to be accepting of his publication. The strategy
worked for him and it worked to desensitize our culture to p_rn.
In 1962 prayer and Bible
reading were taken out of our public schools by court edict.
In Maryland in 1963, Madalyn
Murray O’Hair won a lawsuit against the Baltimore School System that
voted in her favor 8-1 to ban school prayer and label it
“unconstitutional.” Though not all prayer was immediately banned
from schools at that time, through time, almost all school prayer is
banned today.
John Adams and John Hancock
wrote in 1775 “we recognize no sovereign but God and no king but
Jesus!” George Washington said, “It is impossible to govern
the world without God and the Bible.”
William Bradford
authored the Mayflower Compact of 1620. As the Pilgrim’s Leader, he
said they came to America seeking religious freedom… “for the
propagating and advancing the gospel of the kingdom of Christ in
those remote parts of the world.” On the painting of the signing of
the Mayflower Compact Bradford states, “Having undertaken, for the
glory of God, and advancement of the Christian faith, … in the
presence of God, and one of another, we covenant… our selves
together…”
President John Adams
said, “The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved
independence were the general principals of Christianity…I will avow
that I believed and now believe that those general principles of
Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and
attributes of God.” John Adams said to Thomas Jefferson on April
19, 1817, “Without Religion this World would be Something not fit to
be mentioned in polite Company….”
It is our moral obligation to
reinstitute the values of our founding fathers. We must be/get
involved. We must not sit silently by as p_rnographers (or others)
spin the freedom of speech into an acceptance of every word and
image as protected speech.
